A labyrinth. That’s perhaps the only thing that is the same every time. Even in the less complicated ones there’s always an unexpected twist, junctions, choice. Possibilities intrigue me, having few of my own. What if? If I choose left instead of right, will it change anything? Probably not. He was practically numb to everything around him, yet he felt awake.
He felt the blips in his CPU as his system tried to online his higher functions but every time it tried they immediatelly shut down with a barely audible whine, sending him back into that strange, numb wakefulness.
